First tip is do not link only to your homepage.
Try to get links to innerpages too as it doesn't look natrual as you have only links to your homepage. Try to use various linkbuilding resources to point to your innerpages
If your site is of quality you will get links from other people but to have that you need to be found first so it needs a little help.

Variate in the text of your links

IP Classes
An ip class is difided in A,B,C and D classes. It looks like 12.34.567.890
where 12 is the A-class 34 is the B class, 567 is the C-class and the D-class is 890. There is a lot of discussion about the classes but my advice is look for different c-classes. A webhost as mostly a block of D-classes and the search engines know that so if you have a big part of your link comming from the same D-class it will probely raise a flag. So if one of your ways to get links is using your own network of sites you really should spread that nextwork over different hosts. You can use free host for your link generating sites and also real sites that you host on accounts. I will make a list of free hosts soon.

Blog Carnivals Blog carnivals is something that has been a secret for a long time. A carnival is a blog that will alow other bloggers to post on them.

Comments and posts on Forums
find forums to your topic by going to
- http://www.findyourforum.com/
- http://www.boardtracker.com/
to find other forums you can have a look at http://forum-directories.com/ it’s a site with links to forum searchengines and directories. When you post in these forums try to keep it subtle. I mean do not go there and make your first post “Hey come and have a look at my site www.blabla.com it’s the best etc etc” in stead as it’s a forum about a topic you now have knowledge about try to help other people, answer questions and join discussions and use your profile and signature to do the advertising.

Comments on other blogs
I am not talking about spamming blogs because I hate that as much as you do but if you have a blog about a niche chanses are there are blogs about that topic and you can comment on articles that are listed there. Make the comments valuable and not something like "i like this blog" :)
